Upper Noe Valley is served by three public transportation lines, several car share locations, and hundreds of parking spots. The valley floor extends to Sanchez Street, making bicycling a pleasant way to get around. Bicycles can be put on MUNI buses (see video here for instructions) if you need to pedal to the peaks of Upper Noe.
Muni’s J Church train cuts through the center of Upper Noe Valley, running north to south. The 24 Divisadero is a frequent bus that uses the steepest hills in Upper Noe to take passengers to the Castro and north to Pacific Heights. In the other direction, the bus goes to Bernal Heights. The 35 Eureka runs along the hills of the western side of the neighborhood. It runs relatively infrequently.

BART is the best way to get to the East Bay or down to the San Francisco airport, but it’s closest location is 24th Street and Mission. To see route maps and schedules for BART, please visit www.bart.gov.
San Francisco’s famous hills can be mostly circumvented on bicycle by using the city’s bike map. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition’s BikeMapper tool that plans the best route from point A to point B for you. (The SF Bicycle Coalition is a fabulous resource for all things bicycle in the Bay Area.)
San Francisco has three main car share options, all three of which have cars available in Upper Noe. You can search by location or by car at Zipcar, City Car Share and RelayRides.
Parking
Church Street has metered parking from 30th to Day Street, but the rest of Upper Noe parking is free. Take care not to encroach on driveways; they can be very narrow, making every inch necessary to safely back out.
